The Civic Society does not support a proposal to redevelop the existing car wash and car sales site at 122 Bath Road to provide 54 1 and 2 bed flats, in blocks up to 9 storeys high.
The next stage in the ongoing work by The Prince’s Foundation is for the Foundation to spend the next 2 to 3 months doing a go/no go report and business case.

The Society is generally supportive of the redevelopment of this site for residential purposes together with open space, landscaping, parking and associated development. However there are concerns over its height and impact of over neighbouring premises.

The Society is starting work on a campaign to make sure that the Society’s point of view is heard loud and clear in the forthcoming consultations on the future of Western Harbour.
The Society has commented on the South Gloucestershire Council proposal to improve the layout of five junctions on the A4174 Ring Road between the Lyde Green and Kingsfield roundabouts.

The proposal comprises demolition and rebuilding of 34 Old Market Street plus demolition of the three residential blocks to the rear and construction of a new residential block. 15 residential units will be created.
The Society objects to proposals for the land bounded by Redcliff Street, St Thomas Street and Three Queens Lane, Redcliffe. Of particular concern is the building proposed at the corner of Three Queens Lane and Redcliff Street.
The Society has no objections to the access arrangements for the Longmoor Village development, with all other detailed matters deferred until a later application.
