On 20th February 2017, an unveiling took place at the Packhorse Inn, Church Road. The plaque tells a fascinating story: William Herapath was the son of the publican and grew up here in the early years of the nineteenth century.
A blue plaque has been unveiled to commemorate the iron founder and patron of the arts, Daniel Wade Acraman (1775-1847). On 17th February 2017 around 40 people gathered on the quayside at Arnolfini for the ceremony.

Stoke Park is a Grade II registered historic park, and a Conservation Management Plan has been written that aims to find a balance between protecting its important historic and ecological features.
Bristol Zoo has applied for planning permission to continue using land on the Downs off Ladies Mile as an overflow car park. The use of the Downs as an overflow car park cannot be allowed to become a permanent solution.

The Society supports building 198-room Jury’s Inn which will serve the emerging business and leisure uses in Old Market and the Temple Meads Enterprise Zone.
The Society welcomes the reuse of the redundant building, and supports the proposal to provide 93 purpose-built student bedrooms, although it would have preferred conversion to flats.
