Portwall Gate – 100 Temple Street

The image shows a new office development proposed by Nord Bristol Joint Venture in the centre of the image. The adjoining building to its right is the Council offices at 100 Temple Street. Further to the right is the vanished roundabout in the middle of the Temple Gate roadworks. Temple Way runs across the bottom of the picture.

There is an expired planning permission to build along the whole side of the Council offices that would cover the open space between the front of the proposed Portwall Gate building and Temple Way. The Society unreservedly supports the redevelopment of this vacant site. The design of the new building is superior to the lapsed permission. The design complements the neighbouring building and creates a new public pocket park.
