Behind the scenes at the Bristol Beacon, 27th April 2026

The Bristol Beacon, reopened in 2023 after an extensive redevelopment, is a jewel in Bristol’s crown – a concert hall as good as any in the country with three flexible performance spaces and improved facilities. The acoustic is generally regarded by visiting orchestras as excellent and the refurbishment won a Design Award from the Civic Society in 2024.

We visited the Beacon in 2024, but with the kind cooperation of the management, we are returning and this time we hope to be able to visit the backstage areas as well* and we will also begin with a short introduction from members of the management, who will explain, over coffee/tea, something of the role the Beacon plays in the wider community.

*Members will understand this cannot be 100% guaranteed as it is a working venue with activities constantly changing; but the date and time have been chosen to minimise the chance of any last minute problems.

The visit will last approximately two hours. Places are limited to 30, and are £5 each. Places are £5 each. Members will be invited by email to book a place.

Fully booked within two hours of the email being sent.
