All things allotments: 16th November 2026

Join Ruth Hecht and Tim Beasley of Bristol Allotments Forum to hear about the important role played by allotments in the 21st century and why they are under threat. Although under threat, their value to everybody who works and enjoys them is undeniable.

This wide-ranging talk will cover the historical link between common land and allotments, the development of allotments and laws in the 20th century and the ongoing financial crisis afflicting Bristol City Council and its impact on allotments. They will also explain the Bristol Allotmenteers Resist campaign and why allotments and those who work them must form part of the solution to multiple crises affecting the City.

Time: 7.30pm. Venue: the Apostle Room, Clifton Cathedral, Pembroke Road, Bristol BS8 3BX. There is parking (subject to availability) on site. Tickets cost £5.

Members will be invited by email to buy tickets.
