We have decided to cancel, or at least postpone, the forthcoming Winter Social event. We’ll consider whether to hold it a little later in the year, and let you know; and of course we do hope to re-stage the Summer Social which was such a success last year.

A Zoom talk on The 20 Minute Neighbourhood, by Julia Thrift of the Town & Country Planning Association, will be take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 29 September 2021.

Gordon Young’s Clifton walks have proved very popular and he is continuing them into the autumn. Each walk is focused on commemorative plaques, with Walks I and III in Clifton, and Walk II descending to Hotwells.

At this visit to Ashton Court Deer Park, Head Ranger Mark Cox will talk about the Park.

Artspace Lifespace and The Friends of Ashton Court Mansion will host a visit to the Mansion by members of the Civic Society. Society members will visit the normally out of bounds first floor.

A visit to St Michael on the Mount Without, now restored following the fire in 2016 that destroyed the roof and much of the interior. Its owner and restorer Norman Routledge will host the visit.

The Bristol Civic Society Summer Social event, which was cancelled in 2020, is back. It will be held this year at The Observatory.

An open zoom meeting on the future of Western Harbour to help form the Society’s position on this major development.

Ed Hall will lead a walk down the Avon New Cut, starting close to Brocks Bridge and ending at Cumberland Basin.
