Artspace Lifespace and The Friends of Ashton Court Mansion will host a visit to the Mansion by members of the Civic Society. As well as the ground floor rooms, including the Great Hall, the restored lounges and the grand Music Room, Society members will visit the normally out of bounds first floor.
Members will learn about:
- Building and landscape overview
- The building history
- Its archaeology – destroyed, surviving and possible development
- Building costs and maintenance
- Fabric conservation
- Building conservation
- Plus, the possible inspiration for the author C. S. Lewis
Members are asked to assemble at 10:45am outside the main entrance. There is a cafe for après tour refreshments.
