St Michael on the Mount Without, the church on St Michael’s Hill, dates from the fifteenth century and has now been restored, phoenix-like, from a terrible fire in 2016 that destroyed the roof and much of the interior. On the visit, which starts at 6pm and is expected to last about an hour, we will learn from its owner and restorer, Norman Routledge, about the major task of restoration and the building’s new role as a performance venue. The visit is free to members of Bristol Civic Society who will receive an opportunity to book a place by email. There will be thirty five places available.
The event is fully subscribed.
