This year’s summer social will be held at Ashton Court Mansion on Tuesday 4th August from 6pm to 9pm. As in previous years, the summer social will be a very informal gathering. A chance to meet fellow members, bring friends and make new ones.
It will also be an opportunity to see the inside of the mansion.
While it will largely be an unstructured evening, at 6.45pm there will be a brief welcome by our hosts, Bristol Historic Buildings Trust, who now operate the building, about their future plans to fully restore it. Following this there will also be the option of a guided tour of the accessible parts of the building, led by an expert from Friends of Ashton Court Mansion (30 places only).
Booking isn’t needed – just turn up at any time from 6pm. There will be a cash bar.
On arrival, please enter by the main porch at the south west end of the building (the opposite end to the car park).
Access to the mansion is via Kennel Lodge Road, off Clanage Road, at Bower Ashton. There is a public car park adjoining the mansion (£2 for two hours, £3 for up to five hours). There is cycle parking in the Stables Courtyard, just to the east of the main building and next to the Courtyard Café.
Buses X3, X3A, X4 and No 8 stop near the park entrance gates, but please be aware it is an approximately half mile walk to the mansion.
Motorists please note: The vehicular access to the park will be closed at 9.15pm and you will need to have left by then.
