Since 2016, Bristol Civic Society has facilitated 40 plaques, commemorating notable people and buildings where important meetings have taken place.
Our streetscape is embellished by plaques: understated, modest in size but big on narrative and recounting noble biographie.
Gordon Young will describe the back-stories to the plaques – each one took months, often years to arrange. And along the way there were frustrations, revelations and procrastinations but, eventually, celebrations.
Civic Society members will be invited by email to join the meeting.
