In November the Civic Society will be holding a meeting about the centre of Bristol. We will be inviting people from the City Council as well as a range of other stakeholders.
As a preliminary, we are holding this informal members-only meeting in order to find out what we think about the centre of our city. The meeting will be held at The Station, better known as The Old Fire Station, Silver Street BS1 2AG.
The sort of input we are looking for includes:
- When did you last visit the City Centre?
- Why did you come to the City Centre?
- Was it a great experience?
- How do you get to Bristol City Centre?
- What is your future vision for the City Centre?
We hope to explore these questions and more, to get your views, thoughts and ideas for the future of Bristol’s City Centre: what is good, what is bad; why we visit, why we don’t; what might be done to make it better.
We are not imposing a precise definition of the City Centre for this exercise; if people have different mental images of what comprises the Centre, that itself is of interest.
There will be discussions among those who attend and then an attempt to consolidate our views so that they can be used to help plan the meeting in November. The views will also be fed back to members.
The meeting starts at 6.30 pm and refreshments will be available.
Members will be invited by email to attend.
