Civic Voice webinar: Coronavirus and the high street: Wednesday 6th May, 12.30

The impact of the current coronavirus pandemic on the high street

The first in a series of Civic Voice ‘In Conversations’ with the civic movement, this webinar will explore the impact of the current coronavirus pandemic on the High Street and the implications for civic societies.

Hosted by Kevin Trickett MBE, President of Wakefield Civic Society and Chair of the Yorkshire and Humber Association of Civic Societies, Kevin will be talking with Graham Galpin, an expert advisor to the Government’s High Streets Task Force. Graham is seen in this picture during his time on the Government’s Expert Panel on high street. He was invited to join the Expert Panel brought together by Jake Berry MP and Chaired by Sir John Timpson. The panel recommended the introduction of the Future High Street Fund and the High Street Task Force.

Most recently Graham has been working with the Institute of Place Management (IPM) and partners on the processes, tools and “pilot” town centre visits for the Task Force. He is an enthusiastic advocate of excellent data use and of community engagement in town centre revitalisation and viability.

Join Kevin and Graham in this webinar to hear their thoughts on how the High Street may emerge from the current crisis.
