There is a current planning application for permission to develop an Arena in the Brabazon hangars at Filton. The Civic Society arranged a visit to the former airfield and to the hangars quite recently but this trip is focused solely on plans for the Arena.

On Wednesday, 20 November 2019 the Right Honourable Lord Mayor, Councillor Jos Clark unveiled a blue plaque at Badminton School to celebrate the writer and philosopher Dame Iris Murdoch.
The proposed University of Bristol new library will be located on the site of the current Hawthorns building. The Society continues to support a development of a library on this site but regrets that it cannot support this proposal.
