Lindsey Henniker-Heaton’s presentation at this Zoom event will be ‘An introduction to Aerospace Bristol’, which will indicate what a visitor to Aerospace Bristol can expect to see when they come to the museum. Linsey will talk about the evolution of the Bristol Aeroplane Company from the early twentieth century, with photographs of major exhibits, and he will also touch on the history of the site where the museum is located. The last Concorde to fly is the centrepiece but over 100 years of other activities are reflected in the aircraft, engines, missiles and spacecraft on display. STEM learning is an important part of the museum’s remit and will also be covered.
Lindsey Henniker-Heaton was an undergraduate apprentice with BAC in the 1960s. He read engineering at Cambridge and then worked on the Concorde project for several years. In retirement he volunteers as a Concorde guide and as a community speaker for Aerospace Bristol. He lives in Olveston, South Gloucestershire.
