Bristol cultural renaissance: 30th April 2025

Since the early 1960s Bristol has experienced what some have described as a cultural renaissance. In this engaging Zoom talk, Andrew Kelly explores the idea of Bristol, cities and renaissance as well as what we can learn from this for future Bristol and for city futures elsewhere.

Andrew was director of Bristol Ideas from 1993 to 2024. His projects included Festival of Ideas, Brunel 200, Festival of the Future City, We the Curious, the Great Reading Adventure and Encounters Film Festival. He is author/editor of many books on Hollywood history, the future of cities and Brunel.
