There will be an unveiling of a Bristol Civic Society blue plaque to commemorate Albert (Bert) Abrams MBE, who was associated with Broad Plain Youth Club for an impressive span – fifty-two years. This experience served him in good stead and led to much international travel when a London youth foundation engaged him in researching how other countries tackle social and youth work.
The unveiling will be at 11.30am at the entrance to a new Curo housing development at Broadbury Road, Knowle West, Bristol, BS4 1JT.
The Right Honourable The Deputy Lord Mayor of Bristol, Councillor Andrew Varney, is guest of honour.

After the unveiling, there will be an informal gathering at the nearby Knowle West Media Centre, Leinster Avenue, Knowle West, Bristol BS4 1NL where refreshments will be served.
