There are plans by Student Roost and Global Mutual to redevelop the Rupert Street NCP Car Park as a new mixed community. They propose a community-led, mixed-use development consisting of co-living and student accommodation on the upper floors, an ‘active’ ground floor consisting of cafĂ©, creative spaces, leisure and community uses. An ambitious project, but will it be an improvement?
There will be a presentation by the project architect, Mark Osborne of Alec French Architects, followed by time for questions and discussion. Mark Osborne has worked at Alec French Architects for over 30 years, principally on buildings in and around Bristol. He has been involved in many of the city centre transformations, including the public realm Millennium projects at Harbourside and The Centre, Quakers Friars in Broadmead. Since 2012 he has designed and overseen the transformation of Wapping Wharf.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm. Members will be invited to join by email.
