Volunteer with the Bristol Civic Society
There is always important work that goes on behind the scenes to support our activities. We are always looking for help with this, as it enables us to spread the load and to do more.
This may be in support of:
- our campaigns, via the working groups
- writing and producing communications
- administration
You’ll be working with others, benefiting from their support and friendship. With most roles, you’ll meet with others from time to time. Depending on the nature of the role, you’ll be using your computer at home and communicating by e-mail. With most roles you can carry out the work at any time that suits you best, so it's easy to fit volunteering around your other commitments.
You may bring specific skills, or you may just bring energy, commitment and common sense.

Current vacancies
Whilst we welcome general enquiries, there are also some specific areas where we would welcome help. These are:
- Publication design: help to produce publications to promote the Society, taking copy largely written by other society members. For example, new member leaflet, business cards, display stands, event flyers, campaign leaflets, manifesto.
- Newsletter distribution: join a team to help stuff and address envelopes to save costs for the society. Three times a year.
- Newsletter advertising: seek out advertisers for the newsletter, help to organise copy, liaise with the editor and printers.
- Publicity distribution: distribution of flyers in shops and libraries.
- Volunteer manager: organising the recruitment of volunteers
