Under no circumstances should this illuminated high-level sign be permitted. This is a conservation area and a sign at high level would interfere with the skyline view of the iconic buildings of Bristol - Wills Tower, Victoria Rooms, Cabot Tower etc. The sign would merely be unnecessary advertising for an office building. Any signage should be at fascia level eg. over the ground floor entrance doorway, and be sensitive.

The Society opposes this application on the grounds of loss of residential accommodation, loss of garden and increase of traffic generation. We question the provision of toilets for the number of children expected.

The Society is concerned about the quality of design shown in this application. The drawings of the elevations are most unsatisfactory. We are also concerned about the loss of parking space in this congested part of the city.

The application will neither preserve nor enhance the quality of the conservation area.

The Society notes that the roof of this proposal is intended to be green pre-weathered copper. We do not think this is appropriate to the area and would prefer to see an alternative, possibly zinc.

The Society wishes to challenge the extent of the land enclosed by the red line shown on these drawings. It is our contention that this covers a greater area than shown in the original drawings.
