SARAH MASTERS - OUR STUDENT AWARD WINNER FOR 2010
Our £100 award is given annually for an outstanding piece of work by a final year Architecture and Planning degree student at the University of the West of England. Sarah impressed our judges with a very credible combination of Plans, a full building model and Design and Access Statement.

Sarah's project was a small mixed use development in a regenerated area of Gloucester Docks with the dock on one side and Merchants Quay shopping centre on the other. The objective was to enhance the experience of the city and to provide links between it and the quaysides.

The building would be open to both sides and would form a link between these two areas of the city. It would combine a restaurant, a greenhouse garden supplying the restaurant with fresh fuit and vegetables, kitchen, and market spaces for selling local produce.

The public would be able not only to have a meal and buy local produce but local residents also would be ennabled to use the facilities to learn how to grow, cook and market their own food. The entire project woud be economically self sufficient and environmentally sustainable.
Well done Sarah - congratulations and our very best wishes for your future career.
